New to this forum, and new to brewing, although I used to make wine with my family when I was a teenager. Back then we had access to a vineyard and would pick the grapes that were leftover after the harvest.
I stopped by a Home Brew supply store that opened up recently to see what they had, and walked out with enough supplies and almost enough equipment to get started. Needless to say, my wife was very amused that I've picked up another hobby.
Going to start with a Hefeweisen, since that is what she likes, then see where to go from there.
Since I do not have a controlled environment for the fermentation I will be building a cooler out of insulation panels pretty soon. I will also be building a wort cooler; the supply house wanted a pretty penny for some coiled copper, and I can put one of those together for a fraction of the cost (I hope).
I am looking forward to digging in to this forum in the near future.
