G'day I'm James from Victoria Australia. Just started home brewing in the last month and really enjoying it. Mainly joined up to get help and ideas. I like stouts and lagers (depending on the weather!) Also enjoy rum. Cheers!

Thanks Guys. I got into brewing mainly because I got hooked on stouts in Ireland while I was there for a month and a bit. And when I came home to Australia I could only find one that I enjoyed and none that matched the European stouts. So I thought I would have a go at my own! Started out with just a simple lager that came with my started kit. First stout I made was a coopers stout tin with some brewcraft milk stout sugar and also added some liquorice essence. The yeast was saflager something. Its been bottled and sitting in the dark for about a month and a half and tastes pretty damn good!

congrats on the first brew. that first feels and tastes good, don't it? :D let us know if you have questions and/or problems
