I have the inkbird 106vh, it can be calibrated from -199 to +999. My problem is that after going -199 I'm still 399 degrees off!! Any ideas on how to fix this, I believe my probes a wired correctly.
This sounds like you may have the lines on the RTD mixed up. I've had this problem every time I've connected an RTD to the 106vh or my EZBoil... Reads some silly number, confuses me for a bit, swap the lines around and, magic... Something I can test and calibrate
If you have an ohm meter, you can check the sensors to see if any of the wires are open. Resistance when measuring to the odd colored wire and either of the same colored wires should be close to 100 ohms. Measuring across both same colored wires should read close to zero. If any of the measurements are higher than this, then the probe wiring is bad.
I figured it out, you were right, probes we're wired wrong. When I corrected the wiring the temp readout corrected and the elements we're able to be fired!
