I have been brewing for 1 year now and for the first time I think I have an infection. I brewed a Pale Ale and fermented it with California Ale. I wanted to ferment for a long time to see what difference if any could be tasted. Unfortunately I used rum to seal the airlock which over time evaporated and let air in. I noticed a weird looking layer only on top. Is it safe to drink???? Attached is a pic. I appreciate all responds.
