Just bottled tonight. Didn't know if this was just residual krausen or an infection.

Beer had a unique smell that I wouldn't characterize as vinegary, but instead like it was unfinished (as it should at this stage, I supposed).

First time home brewing by the way. Feel free to tell me I'm a noobie and to relax. Better yet, I'll just wait.

How did it taste? Can you describe it better? Flat? Sweet? What time frame are we looking at?

Relax, Don't worry, Have a Homebrew :)

its just yeast that hasnt settled out, your probably smelling young beer that needs to age and carb. bottle it forget about it and taste it in a few weeks, youll be fine

WCarter: Fermentation was pretty slow as it was my first batch and I made some mistakes here and there (nothing serious). So I think you're right about the aging and carbing thing, because when I took a sip out of the fermenter around the middle of the bottling process followed by a sip of some Avery IPA, I noticed some similarities, but mine just tasted harsher and less refined. We'll give it three weeks in the bottles and see how it turns out!

Azscoob: Ha. I hadn't noticed the shapeliness of my yeast bubbles. Maybe if I'd have left it another week we'd be looking at the world as we know it today....Let that hypothetical tickle your brain for a while...
