I am a newer home brewer, I've breed maybe a dozen times, using extract kits. I'm thinking about making the switch to all grain. I'm thing about using portable induction hot plates as my heat source. Has anyone tried this ?

I love the idea of induction brewing, but I'm not seeing that induction offers the "horsepower" you would want to quickly ramp up to boiling. I dont think that maintaing boil or specific temps is such a problem, but it could take forever to get up to temps.

be curious how those who induct-brew respond....

Currently I brew everything on a glass top stove, so I'm assuming the the wait time for boil can't be that much longer

You'll probably want to get a 3500W induction burner to have enough horsepower to ramp up to boil. The smaller/cheaper 1500W burners will be incredibly slow.
