In lincoln city for the week for the 2016 Western BCA 8-Ball Championships
anyone have any "must drinks" or must see ideas???

I cant think of many good beer places around there. Pelican Brewpub just a bit north in Pacific City is OK. I'd just drive around on the coast and in the Tillamook forest and get some good hikes in. Punchbowl, cannon beach etc the typical big name stuff is good times. If you want a daytrip going up north to Astoria is a neat little town, and Fort George has some good beers.

Rusty Truck brewing in Lincoln City has some OK beers, nothing special. Better beer is not far away. Rogue is 30 minutes south in Newport, Pelican is 30 minutes north in Pacific City (where you'll be finding the Pliney), and De Garde makes some awesome sours 30 minutes north in Tillamook. De Garde's would be must drink beers.
the liquor store not far from the casino where the tournament is has a very good selection of beers and a growler fill station.
The beach is nice, you can hike Cascade Head just a little north of town or Drift Creek Falls, and you can always lose some money at the casino.
Here's the best guide for LC.

But Eugene is 2 hours and Corvallis about 1.5 hours away from Lincoln City, and away from the coast. I'd be thinking closer.

If you aren't from the Pacific NW a 1-2 hour drive to hit Eugene, Corvallis, or Portland is well worth it if you have the time. There are breweries in each of these three towns that are putting out world class beers. Bend is worth the trip but that's getting to be a 5 hour drive.

There's probably a mcmenamins near Lincoln City and i highly suggest their happy hour.

If you are at the Casino then McMenammins Lighthouse Brewpub is only a short walk. About 5 miles south on US 101 is Rusty Truck Brewing. Both are full featured brewpubs offering decent food and made-on-site beer.

As for other local features just pick up a visitor guide and choose. There are many things to do and see. We kind of like to putter around the Newport bay front 30 miles south. Rogue has a pub on the north side and their production brewery is on the south side. Both have food and drink but the choice may vary. The brewery offers tours. The Newport bay front is an interesting mix of commercial fishing and processing, shops, entertainment, and restaurants all coexisting.

And on the south side of the Newport bay next to Rogue brewery is the Hatfield Marine Science center (free) and the Oregon Coast Aquarium (not free but good) if you like to see and learn about marine life of all kinds.

I like the Mcmenamins brews. It's a good food/drink place, but thats just one opinion.

Ugh, don't suggest McMenamin's to someone looking for good beer.

Honestly their brewery-specific // seasonals are pretty damn solid most of the time. When was the last time youve had some? I think you're probably working on antiquated views when they only had the staples. Ruby etc is meh, sure. But everytime I go into one there's a couple beers that are quite good.

I've been to the Lighthouse brewpub about 30 times in the past year.
And I was there 2 weeks ago and had a hammerhead, tastes of ruby and sleepy hollow nut brown.

If you're willing to drive about 45 min, de Garde in Tillamook is well worth the visit (side bonus: cheese factory!). Otherwise I think everyone else nailed it. Cheers!
