is it really that important to lube the o=rings of the keg? i got my first keg and i might have a small leak somewhere that i can't seem to find and im thinking this could help my problem

It could very well help. Especially if it is the lid o-ring that is leaking. Also I assume you are leaking co2 and not beer. Try a little soapy water to see if you can narrow down where it is.

yeah i tried the soapy water trick and its hard to get it in some of the connections that are at hard to reach spots. my next idea was to submerge the connections in water and see is i see bubbles? thoughts on that?
