Today I order 25' of 3/8" soft copper tubing, getting ready to make my immersion chiller for my next batch.

25' for $24.59 on Ebay + $15 in brass fittings = $40.

Hell of a lot cheaper than the pre made units [emoji6]

That is a pretty good price.
The ones I was seeing were $70-$100.

But yeah, I like making my own stuff, I can customize to my needs.

My setup will be so I run house water through to bring temp down to below 100° then I'll connect to an ice bucket with submersible pump to bring temp down to pitch temp.

This. It's expensive but it's also awesome. But there's something to be said about making things yourself. That being said, if you're ever looking at chillers that are in the $100 range, just splurge and get the Hydra.

Do you have a fermentation chamber? During the summer I will usually chill down to 80-90°F and then let my fermentation chamber bring the wort down to pitching temperature.

Not yet.
My goal is to get a 7.0 cu ft chest freezer by the end of the year so I can start running. two 5 gal batches at a time.

If your feeling up to it, I'd do two at once. One stays in an bucket of ice water as a prechiller, the other in your kettle. Hit it with 40° water the whole time. Drop it fast
