I'm Thinking... 09/09/09 Barleywine

I'm kind of in the same boat. Mine carb'ed very very lightly. There are tiny bubbles in solution, but it certainly doesn't seem "carbonated". After about 4 months in the bottle with little carbonation, I made a starter with some Nottingham and dropped three drops in each bottle during active fermentation. Unfortunately. it didn't seem to do too much... The saving grace is that it tastes pretty damn good.

I also had the same problem with not carbonating. I tried rehydrating some Saf -05 and added a couple drops to each bottle and re capped, still no carb.

So we're now less than 5 weeks out. I still haven't recieved any brews from Korndog. I'm not encouraging flaming or anything else, I'm just curious how many others are currently in receivership of 2/3 (or worse, but I hope not). I'm disappointed, I've only participated in 3 swaps on HBT (888, Secret Santa, & 999) and I've been short a beer in two of them. I'm excited to taste everyone's beers, I just hate getting stiffed....

It's the one major drawback to a long-term, big swap like this. Lot's of great energy and ambition, then too much time for things to fall apart.

I've emailed all no-shows I know of. Any kind souls who want to step in and fill any gaps, there is a special place for you in brewing heaven.

PS - I have one stiffer myself. (That's stiffER, not stiffee)

Couevas/conpewter - I will definitely keep your offers in mind, but as ambient temps here are between 100-105F, I may wait until this fall for shipping beer if that is alright.

HarvInStl has not held up his end of the swap. I hear he's a busy busy man, traveling, etc etc. but if that's the case I don't think he should have been in on the swap. He's got to have other folks he didn't send to, unless he has and I'm the only one that hasn't received anything. 09/09/09 is in a little over three weeks.

Hopefully they will be carb'd.. It sat under 30psi for 6 days to get anything resembling consistent bubbles in the glass. I hope that made it into the bottle.

I think the risk is over-rated myself.

Yes, it's 4x12 of the 999... I don't know about anyone else, but I don't usually drink BW, so watch it if your not used to it. If your going to drink more than 1 or 2 in a sitting, cancel your plans for the next day.
I came home and had 3 or 4 coors lights, then I'd have a couple "samples" of the BW (to check readiness, that's all ) and it would be lights out.
I wouldn't have memory of half the night...

I don't think I remember the last time I drank enough beer to get that bad off... This is powerfull stuff.
