I'm moving this weekend, so I haven't been brewed in a little over a month. I'm so looking forward to brewing my next batch in my new place! Unfortunately, I'm going from a gas stove to an electric stove.

I'm having withdrawals from not brewing, is this normal? :cross:

When I moved from gas to electric, I was expecting it to be worse for brewing. Maybe I was lucky but electric finally got my 4+ gallons to a hard rolling boil. And much quicker. I'm hoping you have the same luck!

*TWITCH* No, it's not *TWITCH TWITCH* normal at *TWITCH* all. It's been about 2 weeks since I brewed anything, and I'm *TWITCH TWITCH TWITCH* doing just *SPASM* fine.

( </sarcasm> :D )

I'm in the same boat only I don't move for another month and a half. I have roughly planned out the first three or four batches already, and I am planning switching to 2.5-3 gallon stovetop all grain to be able to brew more.

I'm freaking out because I only have 2 kegs on tap, 1 in reserve, a half batch of lager and apfelwien in bottles, and a batch in the fermentation chamber... I dont want my pipeline to run out!!!!!! Must. brew. more. :drunk:

I know how you feel. I did a cross country move last summer and a series of unfortunate circumstances kept me from brewing for over 3 months.

I'm in the same boat! I bought a house last month and started doing some renovating. Haven't had time to brew! Now I'm leaving to travel for work for 6 weeks!!! I need to brew, i'm seriously itchin'!

I've been out of a job for over a month and don't have the money to brew! I keep hoping someone will walk through the front door with brewing ingredients...

The withdrawls are getting strong.

My electric glass top range sucks for brewing. It takes forever just to get a few gallons to a boil. If you have those metal coils on your stove, though, they should work great. I wish I could brew inside but my stove just doesn't cut it.

I am having brewing withdrawals. It's been 2 weeks since I brewed, and I find myself missing brewing more than drinking.

I am also having severe anxiety of my chocolate hazelnut porter running out. I don't have time to do any brews for another month and I love this beer. I don't ever want to have the gas hissing from this keg without a backup of a fresh batch.:(

As far as your other issue: if your electric burners suck, move to propane outside. Best thing that ever happened to me was my wife kicking me out of the kitchen. I have a "crab cooker" burner in the garage and couldn't be happier.

I have been there too. Didn't brew for over 6 weeks once. I had to make 3 brews in about a week right after that. Ahhhhh......

Brew the day you move. Don't pitch until you are at place #2. Use the move to aerate your wort. :ban: Its extra work, but any excuse to brew is a good one to me...

I would like to think it is. It's been almost a month since I did a few batches of extract and now it's taking forever to score dirt chip fridge on CL so that I can start doing AG.

Life is so cruel:drunk:

I haven't brewed in over a month and I have no excuse except it just wasn't a priority in my life. So now my kegs are empty and I'm starting to feel a little desperation.

Plan is to prepare tonight, for brewing tomorrow night. Yeast starter. Ingredients measured and laid out. Equipment rinsed and ready. Recipe and brew sheet printed.

Normally I brew on the weekend, but I will not have an open weekend for several weeks. And if I didn't get REALLY prepared ahead of time, but brewing would run well into the night on a week night.

We brewed 3 batches in about 5 days a couple weeks ago. I am getting the itch as well. We just started kegging and got caught with our pants down when 2 out of 3 kegs floated on us. Fortunately we had plenty of bottled brew. We never intend on that happening again. 4 more kegs were purchased and another fermenter. We have a outmeal stout to brew and I am going to get a pilsner.

Being in the military I move, almost like clockwork, every 3 years. Seems like a long time, but it goes fast; and before you know it, time to head off again. I always seem to brew the most about a year out from the move, because I know the pipeline is going to dwindle and I'll usually have a 4 to 8 week gap during the transistion/move phase.

Yes, the withdrawals are normal I'd say.
