65 and sunny in Central Oregon, and while I love this weather, it should be snowing dammit! We had a week of winter, and that was in late fall. This whole area is going to be on fire this summer.

Spent 3 months in Basrah. Normally 118 f and 50% humidity like the rest of Iraq so annoying but tolerable.for four days in August the winds came off the gulf...123 f and 85% humidity is soul-crushing. The plus part(if there is one) no alerts so we never had to endure that in full battle rattle in a bunker.

Even Dubai in summer is terrible. You walk out of the hotel and are almost instantly damp. 114f and 90% humidity means you normal body temp is below the dewpoint. You do the math.

No wonder everyone over there is so angry.
Thanks for your service.

Just a contractor trying to support those that serve as best I could. Usually I had hundreds of brave service men and women between me and the bad guys.

Heading out to The Dominican Republic tomorrow. It's in the 80s ever day. I'm psyched. I haven't seen sunshine in months. I hop that when I get back all this winter is gone.

Exactly. And while the summers at their worst in MD will be sticky, it won't be 90°+ for most of 4 months... :D I have ran out here while kid of hot and muggy - not too bad. Different for sure.

I lived in Chico, CA in 2006 during a big 112 degree heat wave and the dry heat I'll take over the humidity here any day. The shade feels ok in dry heat but you still sweat in the shade with 90%+ humidity. I guess it's all about what you're used to.

I just realized that it's MAPLE SYRUP SEASON!

Saps flowing, so I better grab my drill and buckets and start driving spiles!

And this year I'm not going to burn the syrup like last year...

A good warm day today. Just nice enough to drag a boat across the ice to repair the damage at the docks.
But I can still stand on it. A police boat did manage to break through the ice and get out of the harbor. What is this, Greenland?
Though I'm really enjoying the nicer days.

I've been pretty stoked that it's been in the 40's for most of the week. Lots of snow has been melting here in CT and it'll make home brewing in the garage a bit more bearable.

Once the ground thaws, I'll be planting some hops so spring better get here soon!

I lived there during that too...lasted over a week. Found a dog almost dead under a car during that heat wave...he is chilling right next to me right now...lol. All it took to revive him was some water in his eyes and mouth and my other dog to lick the **** out of him for a few hours.
