Not really a DIY project but didn't know where else to ask...

I picked up an Igloo brand kegerator with a single faucet tower. I wouldn't mind converting to a 3 tap tower. The problem is the tower and mounting is for a 2.5" tower and every single tower I can find anywhere is 3" wide.

It's just strange that the industry standard seems to be 3" towers (1,2 or 3 faucet). Everything is 3" except the one I have.

I guess I could drill the hole bigger and try to tap new mounting holes...but it would be a hack job...

or try to mod the existing tower to fit an extra faucet or two...or fashion a square box on top for multiple faucets?

Many ways you can do this. I too have the same issue with a Danby Kegerator with a 2.5" tower. It was originally only designed to have one tap in the tower however I wanted to have two, the only trade off keeping the original tower and not upgrading to a 3-inch Tower is that one of the Taps had to be offset in order to fit the shanks inside. Thankfully it was not a big deal and operationally it works great. Only other small modification you need to do is drill new mounting holes at the bottom of the tower if you want to offset it by 45° like I did. Easy to do once you've marked everything.

I see you were able to work a cooling hose into the tower...nice. I was concerned about the room

well the compressor looks to have crapped out :( I only paid $100 for it anyway :/ I guess I'll be looking at building a replacement.

Compressor will stop after a few seconds. I think the run winding is shorting out. ohm checked the pins... 4.4/8.0/13.0....I ordered a cheap ebay PTC but it probably won't fix it...

And the thing is only Jan 2017...not old...
