My first guess would be approx. $200 max -- maybe as high as $225 each (assuming they work, are in relatively good shape, and post-war). If pre-war, especially if pre-prohibition, maybe even more (but not for any "practical" reasons).
they are part of an estate that has a large wwII collection so I'll have to look into the date. If they are not functional and inexpensive i may still get them for the brewing cave.
i didnt... he wanted $200 a piece for them which I think is the high end of their value after seeing them. The estate sale runs till Sunday with discounts growing each day tomorrow is 20% Sunday is 50%. Even at 20% Im not sure I want them. It's a buisness run estate sale so there is 7% tax so its not a big discount. I think I'm going to go early Sunday and and if they are still there and marked 50% off Ill offer 150-75 for the pair. Heres to hoping I get lucky.
I did get a few rubber drip trays for cheap and a regulator for $5!
Drunkle: They looked relatively clean but yeah I would strip them apart and clean them good.
I went back this morning and they were marked down to $125 each (from $200 each) and he said he was firm on the price. I still wasn't sure I wanted to spend that much going only on his word that they are in working order. I found a few other things I wanted some vintage bicycle parts, rubber drip trays, and a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale Neon Light he had reduced to $100 from $200.
I went back to him and asked if he would work with me if I got the Neon light too. He settled on $270 for all the stuff I had which if he remained "firm" on the towers in his mind he gave me the sierra nevada neon and all the bike stuff for $20 so I think I won that round
heres the sign
Now to go about figuring out if these towers work... which will be a whole new thread.
