Thanks to Inkbird and Lea,

I won the IBT-4XS BBQ thermometer and received it just before Christmas. I've only used it a couple times so far but I thought I'd post a review.

This thing is beyond easy to set up and use. Its literally a download of the app and a push of a button and its ready to go. I tested the accuracy and it was not only bang on but quick too. My wife decided to use it while cooking our Christmas turkey.... its a great thing she did because according to the weight to oven head ratio it should have stayed in for another 45 minutes. This bird was spot on. The white meat was cooked perfectly and actually moist. (might have something to do with the bottle of champagne it was basted with)
I also started to ferment 23L of West Coast IPA during the holidays. I used this device to get my wort temp during my hydrometer readings.
The ease of use is simply amazing as I can see how easy this thing would make brew days in the future. So far I have only used 10% of the battery with a couple hours of use.
I'd be more than happy to give this a 5/5 even if I paid for it.

I just got one of these yesterday as well, and while I haven't had a chance to use it yet, I agree, the setup to connect to the app was super easy.

I can definitely see using this in BBQ season, but I also plan on giving it a go on my upcoming brewday to monitor mash temp. Up til now I've used a cheap wired digital thermometer, which has worked fine, but I've found myself obsessively heading into the kitchen to check the temperature.

With the 4xs I'll just set a temperature profile (min-max) on the phone app, and it'll let me know if the temperature falls out of range.

If the probes were water-proof, or longer probes, that would be perfection, so I could get a reading more in the middle of the mash volume (as it is, I'll suspend the probe so the wires aren't submersed, which means measuring pretty near to the top of the mash), but even so, it should prove pretty handy!
