I came home last night and checked on my brews in my brewing closet. (5 gal Apfelwein, 5 gal Barleywine, 5 gal Vienna, 5 gal Munich) I opened the door and asked, OUT LOUD, "How are my boys doing?"

Has anyone ever spoken to their carboys before? I talked to them like they were pets or something. I think I have a problem...I just care about them too damn much.

:mug: Talk to mine like they are long lost friends when I come home. I have had lots of hobbies, but this by far the most addictive.

I walk in and take a wiff from my "fermentation box" daily to make sure that it smells like beer. In the end, we are all dorks, just accept it.

yup, dorks.

I feel better when talking to beer b/c its alive...and it doesn't talk back.

teh voices talk all the time and don't let me talk at all.

Drinking beer makes the voices go away...I'm told.:cross:

I usually get the two dudes on my shoulder, both telling me what to do when I drink. One says DO IT, and the other talks me out of what the other guy said. I usually end up "doing it". "Doing it" can be many mischievous things...

Wait until you hook up a web cam so you can watch them while at work. THEN you know you have a problem.

Can anyone suggest a good web cam?

Good IP camera is an Axis 211. Does not have to be close to computer, if you have an Ethernet connection next to fermenter.

Mine is in the bathroom next to my bedroom. It bubbles me to sleep every night.

I check on them before bed and when I wake up....if I forget I texted the SWMBO to ask her to take a peak. I have a small space heater I'll turn on low for the cold nights and I wrap them in a blanket for the day light hours....

I come home from work i smell all the airlocks and say "that's my boys"

I'm new but already seem to have an issue. I'm an IT guy so I'm thinking the webcam is a good idea.....

It's sad, but after a peck on the cheek from the SWMBO the first place I go is to the brew closet to say 'hi' to the boys, ask how their day was, how's the fermentation going, anything good on TV tonight... etc...

My therapist said that it's totally normal, maybe it's because I give him homebrews...
