The muddled part that should say "we'll drink. To the foam" foam being the bottom of a beer

Interesting...my first exposure to this song was pre-pubescent. In the innocence of my youth I always thought it was about wave agitation causing sea foam near the shore, establishing the border of the drinking (shore to shore). Hadn't thought about it till you brought it up.

You can teach an old dog new tricks.

Well as much as enjoy the late night crowd being one of you for the last 20yrs. This morning I have tendered my resignation of the late night crowd as I have petitioned my company for day work as night shift is costing me my marriage. It has been a long fought battle and I am conceding ground to greater forces. I am hoping to continue to read, browse, and participate in late night activities as is my nature. But can no longer abide a 3rd shift schedule at the sake of my marriage. If the Sh!t drops out the bottom I will most likely be back, but am hoping this is a turn for the better.

Dan,
Don't ever sweat the small stuff. Many may never respond but many read what you say and are glad you're here to say it. Many a night I've wanted to write what I felt but didn't feel anyone gave2 Sh!ts. You post not caring if anyone does or doesn't to that I salute you. No duty service for me but appreciate all you(and those before/after you) have done for our country. Keep up the good work tow the line and all that.

Everyone else from the late night I'll still be browsing although most likely in daylight hours. Been night shift for the last 20+ years hoping I still remember how to function in daylight. But it was a necessary change hopefully for the better. But only time will tell. Thanks all. Keep brewing(good beer) preferably

Good luck with that Gil. My brother in San Francisco is doing the same as you - telling his company he won't work the late shifts anymore. His marriage already dumped (maybe related, who knows).

Fixed a seat motor in my sons car today, and just replaced the screen on an iphone. Woot. I'm mr fixit.

Hope the late nite crowd is doing well. I know Dan is. Navy boys seem to keep going no matter what. I read recently that the US Navy is by far the most dominant navy the world's ever seen. It could defeat all the rest of the world's navy's COMBINED. That is a dominant force.

Here's a ditty for the late nite guys. For late nite jazz fans, it doesn't get much better than this. Cheers!

That's some groovy smooth jazz right there. Good to see some good folks back together around here.

I had a productive weekend. Mostly roofing. Long week coming up but I'm looking forward to it. Gotta go watch the pack not lose...

Bucs got murderized yesterday. I'm trying to remember the people to whom I suggested that this was THE YEAR. I'm sure they'll remind me that I said that.

Sewed a couple of buttons yesterday (needle/thread). I got the stuff out of my daughter's room. She's off at college. When she was young I got her a nice Singer machine and a ton of thread and bobbins and all that stuff. It's even in one of those fancy spring-loaded collapsible cabinet things. The reason I mention this: in my OCD research and buying frenzy for her 12-th bday, I was really entranced by all these things can do. She took classes and learned to use it back then, but it's been sitting quiet since she left for college. I've thought about pulling it out and getting it going. Make me some socks or something :)

I fell asleep so I didn't see them lose....

I happen to be quite a seamstress myself. My mom has always sewed so I must get it from her. I was the only one to get an "A" on the home ec sewing project many moons ago. I took up cross stitching and crocheting while my ex was pregnant with my daughter so we would have something to do. I showed my daughter crochet and now she's a master and also a knitter.

It's been years since I've done any needlework. Haven't even sewn on a button.

I'm neither a crocheter or knitter. One deployment to Antarctica the whole power plants shop learned to knit or crochete I'm not sure the difference. There was a lot of spare time once the airplanes were launched for the day. A lot of card playing too. I was an expert at Mau Mau [emoji18]

Hey Late Nighters

I was checking out the forum yesterday and I stumbled across the EAC thread. It was in the Secret Chit Chat thread. When I first started posting the term was thrown about quit a bit and it seemed to be a right of passage to hunt down the thread and find out what EAC meant. It took me a long time to find it, and it was worth the time and effort because the thread was comedy gold. I read through it again and got some good laughs, but it seems to have disappeared and I can't find it now. I guess it was a mistake for it to show up in the Secret Chit Chat thread... If so, too bad. It is quite entertaining

Brewed my first beer that I discovered on this app. Came out great so far. Just bottled it and the taste I got from the sample was really good. Love this site. Need to get something into the Carboy soon. Can't decide between a black IPA or a stout. What do you guys think. Btw, the recipe I just bottled is an ESB. So I will have that up to bat in a couple of weeks.

I got only one clue what EAC Means. Everything Always Counts. If that ain't right make it a riddle on the riddle thread.
Peace-out?

Do a stout. Good luck and keep us up to date on how that turns out for you.

I'd read it again... If I could find it.

I got done with work at a decent hour today. I built the boys a couple of desks last weekend. I had a few hours to laminate the second one tonight. A few beers and contact cement... I'm feeling good;)

I think I mentioned my shed a while ago. I started at least four months ago. It's been hard to find time to work on it. It's tall because the boys needed a loft for a fort.

I keep telling my wife that if we move it'll be to a property with a 900sqft house and a 4000sqft shed.

Once she asked why the 900sqft house. I told her because she'll need a place for her stuff too.

Current house has a 10x10 shed we built for motorcycle winter storage. It went in there for a year. 11 more years and now I couldn't fit a microwave in there much less the motorcycle. Should have gone with a 20x40. ;)

Yeah. There is never enough storage space. This was the biggest I could go without a permit so I built it tall. I was thinking I could move it if we build our house and move but I'm not sure that would be so easy now.

Needs a window, or two, to the loft area. Gonna get hot and dark up there for the rascals.

Graffiti

In my opinion one of the lowest angst against society. I'm not going to even say a kid; cause we all were at on time Did stupid stuff. But graffiti? Nothing easier to do and nothing as fast to bring down property value

Some ahole fvucker laid down a bunch of graffitti to in my neighborhood- last night

I spent the afternoon removing it. Three and of graffiti remover a scrub brush and bunch of HD orange buckets of water. Fvucking graffetti gone. I'm seriously thinking about sitting outside in the dark and catching these azzholes. Break there fvvking fingers
