That's pretty sweet. I'll have to give that a try when I'm ready for the kegs. :)

How much did the yard charge you for them?

The stainless scrap price. I paid like $30 for all of them. One still had 7up in it so I paid for that but wasn't gonna throw any fits. These were all ball locks and were barely even scratched. The "secret " is that many people look in the junk yards. Look in the big recycling facilities and scrap yards and talk to the guys working there. A lot of times they will save the for you if you tell them it's a favor to you etc. I think people naturally want to be helpful.

I just finished repainting the hood of my truck. It's a good thing I did it to keep the thing from rusting, rather the for aesthetic reasons. Masked everything off. Sanded it down. Cleaned it with a cloth. Then cleaned it with a paper towel covered in mineral spirits. Layer one was black rust reformer. Then spray on truck bed liner. Finally automotive clear coat. I should have bought more cans of clear coat. I ran out, and the sheen is kinda blotchy. I'll pick some more up later and fix it.

Can't beat that deal, reinstone!

Happy Labor Day to those in the US! Drinking my first beer, or any alcoholic beverage, since the storm party and the whiskey. I hardly ever drink liquor and every time I do, I swear it's the last time, never goes well. Enough to make me (almost) want to quit drinking completely. But then a few days go by and I'm ready for a nice session beer.
:mug:

Made a 1.070 IPA (based on a Pliny clone) Going to try to top crop the yeast. Its only a one gallon batch, but here's the set up:

I'm done with antibiotics and now I'm drinking some beers. They taste so good!

I also ate me a green chile Whataburger tonight! :ban:
Granted I had to use a fork and knife, since I still can't bite anything. I had no trouble chewing it though. Whataburger is literally like my favorite food group, so this was not only comfort food but also a great milestone of my recovery.

+1 on your recovery had a Whataburger once quite good BUT their malts brought me back to childhood always liked old fashioned malts not as sweet as the powered version they pass of today. My uncle on my father's side whom we saw a couple times a year his BIL had a small soda shop in Woolworth's. He'd take the lot of us kids (about 10) we'd walk down there a bit less then a mile super big treat as a kid. He'd get an egg cream. Amazing the things that flashback things you haven't thought off in 40 years;)

Drinking a homebrewed ryepa and lovin this time of night.

Gotta say I finally pulled the trigger on my new kegerator parts. Got 4 more perlick 525ss to add to the four I have already. Had to buy faucets, shanks, lines, connects, tail pieces and the distributor etc.

I got the stuff at ritebrew. Amazing prices. They have something called speedee shipping and it cost me $3.50 and it says I'm in the next day delivery area......I'm 400 miles away from there. Pretty sweet.

Cheers ....I'm well on my way to interesting posts. So Prost!

Good to hear you're feeling better.

I'm 32 and I wish I grew up in a few decades earlier. I hear those stories and experienced a similar childhood but not as "wholesome" for lack of a better word. I try to take my kids to places like an old soda fountain but they are few and far between in my area. I hear about 29 cent gas and when people respected other people. As nice as that was, people then also thought Budweiser was the king of beers- I guess we have to realize that although everything isn't better....forgetting about it is. Cheers to good beer and yesteryear. Hopefully the future holds 29 cent gas and small town ipa watering holes.

Hmm, drink something or take a melatonin? I took one last night, I had bad dreams...

So, I wondered what melatonin is. Turns out its a hormone. Its sold as a supplement. Then I googled, "what the difference between a vitamin and a hormone". Google says you can't hear a vitamin. :drunk: sorry.

Ya got that right

I have to back out of a situation that I got myself into. Hubby is pissed and has a good right to be. If more of his family ever found out, it would be a very bad thing. Crap, this is why I like beer so much. Life gets to me and having to be so careful around certain people, so as not to offend them, or seem "politically incorrect", be careful what I say. In real life, my mouth opens and starts talking before my brain really kicks in... online, at least I can type, then read, then re-read, then enter.

After the temporary posting of the late dog/wolf, I can't imagine anyone not being polite to you. What did you commit yo? ...sorry my typo's are gangsta...I mean what did you commit to?

Yeah, that. I'm glad my neighbors are quite a distance away from me. And, family acting as a barrier.... It was a coyote, say we all.

Well, I bet you made a good choice, and if it turns bad, people with hindsight shouldn't second guess you. I hope it works out.

It won't turn out bad if they just trust me. There is a method to my madness. And this has nothing to do with the "coyote" slaying. I can't even explain it without writing a book. I can probably summarize the situation by saying that I am a risk taker anytime the odds look good. Numbers don't lie.

True.

Getting ready for this time of night as I type. How is everyone tonight. I need to take care of a gallon or so to free up a keg. It's a ryepa or a helles. The rye will make me feel better tonight..........the helles will make me feel better tomorrow.

Good problem to have I guess.

I'm alright. I just had to deal with an idiot supervisor who seems to think I don't know how to do my job. That's pretty much par for the course though.

I had some good green chili enchiladas for dinner. Now I think I'll pour myself a glass of something and try to relax. I'm not sure why, but I'm super tense today.
