Ok might be a little more work but you have five years right so here ya go: fwiw
"Timed is like Hop additions"

Year 5:
Make 20 gallons of mead right now, bottle it in the champagne bottles next year, then put them under the bed or something for then next 4 years.

Year 4:
Make a Huge Ass Oaked Imperial Stout, bottle, and Cap with Crown Caps a Wax.
Stick them next to your mead.

Year 3 -1 Brew and drink what you like

Month 3, brew and Keg 10 gallons of APA and IPA

Day 5
Invite 3 friends over to your house, drink 3 cases of BCM (your choice)
Have your friends and yourself return the BCM naturally back in to their original bottles and cap.
Place the recycled beer in refrigerator and get it nice and cold.

Night of event:
Hand each attendant a bottle of mead and a bottle of your stout handsomely labeled and presented.
Tap the Kegs and serve to everybody.
Stick the recycled BMC bottles in a giant tub of ice...(no one will notice the difference)

Have Great Time Enjoying your APA and IPA while you laugh at the BMC'ers.

That's a brilliant icea! There's a huge wedding venue here in Baltimore I can probably contact as the time to brew this draws close.

Jet,

While not 100% champagne bottles, I had great luck contacting Pairings wine bar in Bel Air (it's on 924 right around Kohl's and DuClaw). They were nice enough to leave empties out back for me as long as I committed to a regular pickup schedule. I went 2x a week for 2 months or so and got over a thousand bottles that I split with a friend.

Might want to give them a ring and see what they can do for you.

If they're charging for the event, you might run into a little problem serving your homebrew there, even if you're not charging for it...

Better to be safe and review your state's laws regarding it. Could get pretty expensive and even freedom limiting...

Not to be a party pooper, but felt it needed to be put out there...

I'd just start making mass quantities of Apfelwein. Easy to make and it ages very well. In 5 years you could have made enough to provide kegs for the whole night if you did that. I realize it isn't beer but hell, you still made it.

This was my immediate thought. Just make a bunch of bottles and have it be a "souvenir" for the event.

Yeah, I'd definitely look into that as the date gets closer. Worst case, I have five years of a pipeline built up to drink myself. :ban:

I figured I could label up the bottles really nicely and at least gift them to the few people in my high school class I actually like too.
