I bought this and will get it welded to the mash cap.. should work good with a tiny bit of modification

Just make sure it is not too heavy and everything stays below the liquid without disturbing the surface/top. That will work fine but it has a lot of holes to clean. I just have a "J" tubing bend that was welded to a barb fitting. To some extent the 'simulated rain' of a sparge is not that necessary with recirculation. You just need the liquid to be put up on the top of the mash tun gently. The filtration will take care of itself. The part above would be better if it did not have all of the holes drilled and only let our of the center and the four ends. Your flow will be quite slow/small so I would question if the wort would even make it out of all of those holes.
