So long story short: crushed my foot 2 years ago. Recovery was one bumpy road. Yesterday they removed pins plates and screws... I was hoping to be able to brew in a couple of weeks but alas.... The way my foot feels now that ain't happening... Well that yeast I bought will need a hell of a starter if I want it to do anything :(

That sucks. I bought a wagon to move things around. I'm still fit, but this does make life easier. Maybe you could consider augmenting your process with a 4-wheeled helper. I brew outdoors, so maybe my world is different than yours (sometimes I forget that my way is not the same as others).

Sorry, hope you heal quickly.
If you can even stand, you might consider small batches, extract batches, something easy. Or using mechanical aids. I've managed to brew after putting a knife through a couple of fingers, and after a mild shoulder fracture. Of course, it may well be easier to brew with one hand than one foot.

Hoping you can get walking again soon.

Does your home brew supply store person know of any one that may donate some time to help with a brew day?

Give it some time friend. Let that inflammation from the procedure go down. You may find ways to adapt your procedure to keep undue weight off your foot. Herbs like turmeric and ginger are worth researching, as a body suffers being on prescription and OTC meds for too long. Be well! And yes, it does suck. :(

Stay away from the god ham pain pills. They create more pain than they help.

Perhaps seek out someone who is interested in home brewing and would like some help getting started? I'm thinking: you sitting in a comfortable chair with a glass of local beer and your "student" follows your directions.
You brew a double batch and he gets his half......
