Hi everyone,

Newer to the forum and wondering if anyone has thought about/tried using a hydroponics grow tent as a fermentation chamber. Not sure how efficient it would be from a temperature retention standpoint, but it seems like it might make a good shell that is easily movable. Any thoughts? Am I missing something obvious?

Something like this

Cheers!

Grow weed in the tent, brew beer in a temp controlled fridge...

Hah, well I'll go ahead and add "dual purpose" to the pros list. The fridge is of course a proven strategy, but the variety of sizes these are available in has me intrigued and wondering if it has been done before.

You'd need to put in an ac to keep the fermentation temps down, and I doubt the tent is very insulated. This would mean that your ac would be running a lot and rack up the electricity costs. Better off with one or a few dorm fridges with stc 1000's in my opinion...

You could ferment in a garbage bag if you wanted, its just not really that useful or efficient. Your paying a ton of money for all the mylar and reflective material that you dont even need (unless you plan on frying your beer with UV lamps), and getting nothing you do want, which is insulation.
