I'm taking a 14th century LIT class, and for a class project, we had to make something as it was in the the 14th century. I found a recipe for mead and convinced my prof to let me brew it for my project. Surprisingly she went for it.
This will be my first time brewing a mead and after doing some research, I decided that Wyeast 4184 would be the best yeast for my purposes. The problem is that I've had to pull my Mr. Beer fermenter out of retirement because my others are currently working on beer batches. The Mr. Beer fermenter is only 2 gallons and the yeast pack is for 5 gallons. Should I try to just use 2/5 of the yeast pack? or does it matter? If I do use the whole thing, should I use more yeast nutrients since this is a mead?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
