I did some searching but couldn't find what i was after, so if there are threads on this let me know. I bottled my first hefe yesterday and tonight there is about 1/8 of yeast at the bottom - much more than with my previous beer, a brown ale. I used Wyeast 3086 and did make a starter. Is this an acceptable amount of yeast for a hefe? just worried it was too much sediment

I rack from above the yeast cake, so don't get any sediment in my bottles until after it's carbed up and there is a light dusting. It sounds like you got quite a bit of sediment in your bottles? Maybe your racking got down to the yeast cake.

yeah, that is a definite possibility...i just let the racking cane sit on the bottom - i'll give your way a shot next time. will this cause bad beer, or affect the way it carbs?

No worries, luckily a hefe is one you want yeast in. You'll just have more than usual... You might be noticing the effects on your body from taking in more yeast... But that's something a significant other would complain about :)
