What is the sugar/ water ratio I need to boil for carbonating my beer?

How much goes into each bottle?

- Nick

I usually do 3/4 cup Corn Sugar in 1/2 cup of water. Boil for 5 minutes. Cover and let it cool for a little while, then pour it into my bottling bucket and rack the beer on top of that.

I don't go by any sugar/water ratio for priming. For starters, 3/4 cup in 1/2 cup of water is fine. I just use enough water to dissolve all of the priming sugar.

The best method of bottling would be to put your priming sugar into a bottling bucket, then rack your beer into the same bucket. That way, all of the sugar is mixed evenly with the beer, and every bottle gets the exact same dose. Thats a lot easier than trying to prime each bottle individually.

And by a lot easier, he means that it is really, really hard to try to prime each one individually. Perhaps for people much smarter than me its not a big deal. But I ended up with some under carbed, and others explosive! Bottling bucket is that way to go for sure. :mug:
