Just got last months water bill. $110 for about 12000 gallons. There is a flat rate per household $32 for 4500 gallons then they rape you after that. I have a family of six we could be more frugal but we don't live in a desert for cripes sake. BTW, New water project last year!

Is this normal pricing?

Mine is about $12 a month. I live alone and don't have a w/d or dishwasher. My total water bill is $20 because trash pickup is included in that, which I don't use because I live in an apartment and my monthly fees go to that.

I guess if you multiply mine by 6, then add some more for running a w/d and a dishwasher, then I'm around your price range.

total for the last 3 months combined was 10Kg, $68 ($34 water, $14 sewer, $20 operations fee).

I may have a leak but not after the meter. Our dishwasher is broken (to do list). I have a garden, growing hops, kids playing in the sprinkler once in a while AND a 16 yo daughter. It has been raining like crazy here lately. Can't wait to see the bill if it gets dry:(

Water is included in the rent of my flat, in the brewing club it is also included in the house rent. Not bad for brewers!
Remind me of a T-shirt I once saw, saying: "Save water, drink beer!". Clearly not designed by a brewer, as we all know itt takes several liters of water to brew a liter of beer...

June's bill was $65 which is about double the norm. I've been running the sprinkler system to keep my grass from turning to straw. It's not working. I also wash a ton of clothes and dishes given that my wife and kids are home all day.

We used 36 cubic meters (9500 gallons) in the last 2 months for a total of 87.18 so it looks like your pricing is in line with mine.

We are a family of 5. If you are using that much water every month you have a leak somewhere.

Check your toilets for leaks they can be very sneaky and leak without you noticing. and check your meter and see if they misread it or estimated your usage.

Thanks for the info. I will have to check the fixtures for any leaks.

I was wrong we get charged $36 for the first 3000 gallons then about $8 per 1000 gallons after that. Sewer is extra it was about $50 last month based on a whole different scale than water usage for some reason:drunk:

I just find it very hard to understand $160 for water/sewer when we used to (before the water projects) pay a flat $40/mo combined with no metering. I would put in a well if I could but the city still charges the base fees whether you use the water or not. Even if the house is vacant and utilites are shut off!

It's crazy! There is no water shortage here. Just a mismanaged city trying to dig themselves out of a hole I guess?

we are currently no metered on the water but get raped at paying about $82/month for water/sewer/garbage. I have a pool and it is dang hot here so we use the water, plus a swamp cooler that drips through the day but not that much in the grand scheme of things.

ours is usually about 40-50 per month, but we are on 'rural' water, which for some reason is more expensive than city water.

$12 for 'meter rent' and 1.80 per 1000 for water. Normally, I use 2000/month, 3000 in the summer when I am trying to keep my garden and the hops alive.

You could have used 54k gallons for what I paid for 12k! This is what I am looking for $/gallon...I tried googling average US water cost...not much luck.

I am starting to think I have a good reason to fight these bills. Is there a maximum the goverment sets for water charges out there? Also tried googling....

In the second driest state in the union.

Culinary $40 per month includes sewer and garbage. Does not seem to change much if a kid moves home for a few months. I am not sure about amount used, I will look into that.

Luckily we have secondary irrigation water for $200 per year. My 1 1/2 acre of park like trees and grass get a lot of water.

Those are numbers I can use! Mine is .0090. More than three times what you are paying...OK is not the wettest place in the world right? What is your water source? Is that just water or is anything else included?

Water source = Manmade city maintained Watershed ~3 miles from house.

We have several lakes but we aren't coastal or a bog. Not a dessert either.

That number is delivered municipal water only.
