I don't have an exact count in front of me, but I brewed at least nine 5 gallon batches last year that I didn't add along the way, so I'll go with another 45 gallons.

According the forum home page footer there are 179,198 members on HBT.
Using the 2018 total that's a 0.3360964 liter per year per member average.
Someone clearly isn't pulling their weight, dammit!!

the AHA survey in the 2018 January/February zymurgy magazine has the total homebrew per at 43.5million gallons. It appears to based on 1.1milllion American homebrewer and an average 8.3 5gal batches a year.
 
A lot of them don't post any more, a lot of the ones that do still post don't know this thread exists.

If I see someone post about brewing in the What I Did For Beer Today thread and not adding it to the tally, I try to remind them, but i'm sure I miss some... and not everyone knows about that thread, either. So it goes...
 
My final addition to my count was 6 gallons of a blonde ale I brewed for a friend. I didn't touch the kettle again until January.

15910.5 + 6 = 15 916.5 gallons
