How long does keg beer last in a keg? Will a bottle be better long term storage, I don't drink that much beer that often.

Beer will last a long time in a keg as long as you purge it from oxygen with your co2. I've aged a stout(7%) for a year and have kept normal beers for 5 months easy. I won't be afraid of going longer either.

I usually leave my beers in the primaries for 4 weeks so I don't carry over much yeast to the keg.

a keg is nothing more than a very large bottle. a bottle stored properly (out of sunlight) and a keg stored properly (purged of oxygen) should last indefinitely.

of course the characteristics of the beer will change over time, and thats the exciting part!
