Hi all, long time ale Brewer, first attempt at cider. I have a batch of simple apple cider that has been sitting in my primary for 3 weeks now. I want to let it sit for another 4-5 weeks before bottling. Can I leave it in the primary? Or will it pick up some off flavors from the yeast cake? I have multiple carboys so racking to a secondary isn't a problem, just an added step I would skip if I didn't need to do it.

Thanks!

I have had ciders take on a yeasty flavor if left on the lees too long. You'll get varying replies here, but just about everyone racks to secondary for aging.

Yeah after cruising the forums that seems like the general consensus. Thanks!
