How long does dry extract last?

I usually dont make starters, however I need to make one for this weekend. Can I use dry extract that is about a year old to make the starter?

I would never use something that old to make a batch with but for a starter I think I might be ok.

Should be fine if it was stored properly. God knows decent beer has been made with older! Just double check the gravity before you pitch.
