how long can a keg last?

can a half barrel last a couple months in a kegerator possibly before going bad? Seems like it is a long time to me. I've personally never had one last more than a week before being empty (with help...of course).

My buddy nursed a keg of Sam for close to 4 months, tasted good until the end. I've got an Ipa that was delicious at 6 months old.

It really depends on what kind of beer it is. Higher ABV can actually continue to get better with age. There's no reason why even a lighter beer couldn't stay drinkable for up to a year.

Depends on the beers, the number and zeal of the drinkers.

Me and a longtime friend killed 4 kegs in 5 days last summer.

I just took my 2003 Old Bog Water barleywine out and put the 2005 on tap.
