Sooo...are babies fermentable?

First forum I've been on where the mods stir up old trouble...{; heheh

yes they are, as long as their barley babies, kill em young, as soon as the head pops out, then roast in the oven....you know the rest of the process...

No, no, no no no. The baby’s already been in one “oven,” so we’ll say it’s already malted and ready to go. So basically, what you want to do is start with the baby in the mash, then move it to an actual oven, a la Keptinis, and bake the heck out of it, really getting a good Maillard reaction going, then you put that back in the mash and lauter out. Simple, really.
