Hi All,

I'm at the stage in my electric brewery build where I need to test the elements however I'm not clear on the correct/safe way to fit one to the housing.

- I assume I use thread tape?
- What about sealant?
- Do I use the black rubber seal?

I found this link which might be what I should do..?

Here are pics of my element and housing.

Just screw the element into the housing and the o-ring on the element will seal against the SS housing.

Thanks guys. I just received this from the manufacturer..

"No Teflon tape is needed on the element threads. These threads are NPS threads and seal on the gasket on the back of the nut. If you thread the element on so it is snug against the gasket it will not leak."

Plus a mate of mine is a ss fitter welder and he said replace the rubber gasket with a Teflon one - if i can find one.
