For those who are curious, the thread @MickeyPuff (^) refers to is here:Was looking for info on using a chiller for my soda fountain dispenser and google found a post about a user who has already done so. I went ahead and signed up since I already have a home bar with a kegerator and figured I should try to brew my own beer for it too.
I was looking for information about making pear mead. I have a wonderful Bosc pear tree and am always looking for new idea for what to do with my harvest. Bosc are too sweet to make a good cider but mead seemed like a good option. I’ve made wine from grapes grown in our backyard in a previous home and love the process. Plus my dad was a brewing chemist for part of his career so it’s fun to get him involved.Welcome!

Where did you get the rhizomes for these? I'm in Jersey, and summers are getting increasingly arid; nothing close to TX, I understand, but I'd like to try growing hops and my Cascade bine has been going nowhere fast for the past 3 yrs. TIA.Howdy. I found this place searching for hops varieties that would grow well in TX (30 degrees latt) which is pushing the range quite a bit . First time I had ever heard of Amalia and Neo (neomexicanus) hops. Thanks Guys.
