So I need to make a starter (first time with liquid yeast) so I can brew in a few days with plenty of healthy yeast. I used mrmalty.com(SG 1.052) calculator to determine the size of my starter (1.04L). To make this I calculated I need 3 ounces of DME. Unfortunately I do not have a scale. What would be the best way to weigh this out or guesstimate it?

Thanks in advance.

I'd figure 1/3 cup = 2.6 ounces so hey grab a 1/3 cup measure heaping a bit not just level, and rock with it, I can't imagine an extra or a missing half ounce is gonna make or break it. But I'm very unscientific like that :( So you might not want to listen to me.
