I have yet to buy a pH meter but I know my tap water profile and it's great brewing water, relatively soft and well balanced. Anyways all I care about is hitting a good mash pH when doing full volume brew in a bag. The software is very convenient and easy to use but more importantly how accurate is it?
It calls for me to add .4lbs of acidulated malt for a 12 lb ipa grain bill. 9 gallons of water. Does this sound like it's in the ballpark, 5.44 pH computed.
Water report
Mg 8.33 mg/L
Ca 29.7 mg/L
Na 8.52 mg/L
S04 31.2 mg/L
Cl 9.50 mg/L
Total Hardness: 104 mg/L
Total Alkalinity: 76 mg/L
Carbonate Alkalinity: 0 mg/L
Bicarbonate Alkalinity: 76 mg/L
Non-Carbonate Hardness: 28 mg/L
pH in pH units: 7.76
Any insight would be greatly appreciated Cheers.
