I have started cultureing bottle dregs of sour beers I enjoy. If they reculturing I've been decanting most of the starter and giving them a swirl and dump into my house mixed culture. Now I want to brew a 32 gallon batch. I plan to primary ferment with nottingham, rack to secondary and the pitch about half my house mix starter and keep half to build up for next year's sour. My question is how much slurry of my house starter should I build up pitch into 32 usg?

well it should work fine no matter how much you pitch. Having more will get it to sour quicker though.

I usually have done a 1.5L starter thats been decanted a couple times for a 5.5gal batch. The starter wort is aklready notably sour when I pitch it. I would try to do a total of 5-6L maybe? not of slurry, but a total starter volume of that size
