hopstrainer blocked at end of the boil

I used pellet hops for the first time ever today, I always used whole leaf in the past.
When the boil was finished and I wanted to transfer it via the tap on the bottom of my boiler into the fermenter, all the sludge from the hops gathered around the hopstrainer and blocked the liquid.
In my stress and confusion, I just started scooping out the wort with a sanitised jug into the fermenter but now there's a big mass of slur on the bottom of my fermenter.
Now, if I wouldn't have pitched the yeast already, I could've transferred it to a different fermenter, but I guess that's too late now.

Usually I put my hops in nylon bags, bit I didn't this time, I thought pellets wouldn't cause me any issues.

Can I take any advice with regards to the use of pellet hops, using a bag or not (does it even make a difference?), and is my batch ruined now that I'm fermenting my brew with all the hop slurry at the bottom?

Many thanks!

Fred

I've always used a bag. I just clip it to the side of my kettle with a notebook clip.

No, your beer is fine with the hop sediment, no need to worry.

I've used mostly pellet hops, never in a bag. I usually syphon the beer out to leave the trub behind, but sometimes I open the ball valve and let it all run out. Don't worry man.

This is not looking good, 3 days in the fermenter and only a small amount of bubbles in the airlock, the fermentation is going nowhere. I'm afraid that's because I scooped out the wort and it didn't air properly...

Have some patience. Based on certain variables, sometimes fermentation is slow. You just have to wait it out.

Get a Hydrometer. It'll ease your mind...
