hops root cuttings as an ingridient?

I was given some of these hops roots cut into small pieces. marketed as an adjunct. I guess kinda like using oak chips??? anyone ever hear of such a thing? how would you use them?

I'm no subject matter expert, but I think Gesho is a sorta juniper-looking bush that is used in making Tej.

What do they taste/smell like? I suppose you can put almost anything in beer, but...

According to Wiki, in East Africa, it's used similarly to hops, in mead and beer.

Give it a try and let us know what flavors it adds.

I guess I should have googled first...so these are not even hops roots?

They are just used "like" hops? in the boil?

I wonder how much?
