My buddy has asked I brew a blueberry wheat ale for his wedding this summer in a style similar to that of Wachusett's blueberry Ale. Their website states they use a combination of Pearle, Tettnang, and Liberty hops. Looking to get people's thoughts as to how much of each and timing of additions for a standard 5 gallon batch.

Thanks!

If in that order you have Bittering, Flavor, and aroma hops. Tettnag i bet 60, liberty probably 15 and liberty could work at 5 to 0. Now how much depends on what you want your IBU's to be at. I wouldnt be shocked that its 1 oz each.

I actually do not know what order they are added in.... That's just the way they were listed on the website... I'm looking to get an opinion on how many ounces and when to add given what people know about the style

If you figure it out, let us know. That's my favorite blueberry beer EVER.

Wheat beers are typically 15-30 IBUs with this specific clone the website says 10. So sounds like late additions 60 min boil. Liberty and Tettnanger are about 4 to 4.5 AA and Liberty is around 9. If you dont have a beer program they are online to help you out. I would have to punch them into mine but cant right now.

Thanks that's helpful... I don't have a beer program but I'll look into it... When you say late additions are you thinking in the 30 min to 15 min range? Seems this is on the low end of the style

The ibu's on their web sit has it at 10 which is lower then norm. I would figure since they are using three hops I wouldn't doubt one is bittering and the other 2 for flavor so they might drop the other two at the same time. I would look at the profile of the hops to see what they are match 2 and use that as flavor hops. I'll see what I come up with when I have time to look into it.

Apologize havent forgotten about this. Ive been trying to get some input on other sources but not that successful. Ill be plugging this in tonight and give you a ball park recipe.

Looks like to get 10 ibus theres several ways to do this. I went in the order you presented and in the order. Perele 8.7% AA .40 oz at 30 mins, Tettnang 4.5%AA .60 oz at 15 min, Liberty 4.3% AA 1.0 at flame out. This got me on beer smith 10.6 IBUs. Its a start from here you can play with it.
