Ok had an amazing sour that was hoppy in the nose (guessing dry hopped) but nothing but tart sourness after and the wife loved it so much we got a growler, my question is who's got a recipe AG that will get me in the ball park of almost tart lemons with hoppy front, lookes like this
Looks like I found a close one to give a shot thanks for the link, that clone sounds pretty similar to this, never had NB, what is the sourness on that like flavor wise?
A quick google search suggests that this beer is a Berliner Weisse, probably dry-hopped with something or other. That's a slightly different kind of beer from NB terroir: a berliner weisse can be made fairly quickly since it is soured primarily by lactobacillus; something like Le Terroir will take much longer, as much of the sourness will come from pedio (part of the Roeslare blend mentioned in that thread).
You might want to have a look at this thread. Remember that lactobacillus is hindered by hops, so you want to get your hop flavour from dry-hop additions.
Le Terroir is more tart than a berliner. It's a pretty clean tart flavor with some earthiness and a terrific aroma. I don't know if it is like what you had, but it is really good.
It's dry hopped with Amarillo and citra. I think it's just their blonde sour base (Felix) with dry hops. This is a good interview with Lauren Salazar that has some info about it.
I think we're talking at cross-purposes: Calder and I were both talking about Afternoon Delight by Pizza Boy Brewing, the beer that 1fast636 asked about in the first post, which seems to be a dry-hopped berliner weisse.
I will let you know what im picking up when we crack the growler open. I want to say citra cascade maybe citra Amarillo it was like double ipa citrus in the nose then lemon tart sourness and amazingness after the nose
