I don't dry hop very often because of the styles I usually brew, but in this case I did a Sam Adams Boston lager clone that called for an ounce of Mittlefruh dryhopped for 5 days. I used WLP830, pitched at 44F and let it rise to 52F over 10 days, where the OG wast 1.052 and finished at 1.102, measured by my trusty finishing hydrometer. After three days of consecutive readings of 1.012, I raised the temp to 68F for a 5 day diacetyl rest and confirmed the FG at 1.012, again using my finishing hydrometer. Added the one ounce of Mittlefruh in a muslin big for a 5 day dryhopping period. Just before kegging, I did one more gravity reading with the finishing hydrometer and the FG had apparently dropped to 1.006. And yes, I did make sure I did temperature conversions to account for the wort temp and my my hydrometer being calibrated for 60F. The only conclusion I can come up with is that the dryhopping had something to do with the yeast restarting. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this.

Hop creep has been seen, certainly, and is a real thing, at least with certain hop strains.
But without a control it'd be speculation to assume the gravity drop was hop-induced.
There are other ways that can happen...

Cheers!

I will PM you in the next day or so with a presentation I recently did on dry hop creep, or the freshining power of hops, for my homebrew club.
