Honestly, how often do you take apart all those fittings for cleaning?

How often do you take it all apart?

  • After each brew day?

  • After a set # of brew days?

  • Yearly?

  • Other?

  • Never?

I'm pretty much all stainless now, Swagelok connectors for my dip tubes and HERMS coil, SS dip tubes, SS 3 pc ball valves, etc. Currently I'm taking apart all the connections after each brew and soaking in PBW. I kind of enjoy it, its fun and I have a large work shop to do it in. I'm just now installing the HERMS coil but I don't think I'll disassemble it but maybe one or twice a year, but we'll see. Just how often does everyone else take it all apart?

I should really take my kegs apart more often but I do all my ball valves etc. every time. I have purposely kept a relatively simple set up for ease of cleaning.

I get bored at home so I usually take apart all of my ball valves, clean them and put them back together.

I absolutely do not disassemble my rig every brewday. What is the need? Keep everything clean, circulate some hot PBW, and call it good. I would say about once a year a do a tear down to make sure everything is in good shape.
