Homebrew stores in Harrisburg Pa.

I'm in Newport Pa. for the Mountain Laurel Autoharp Gathering. Wife plays autoharp and likes to come up for classes etc. This year she's competing for the first time though.

Anyway, while she's doing her thing I was wondering if there are any homebrew stores in the area worth visiting. If there's something that is or has some unique offerings, let me know.

Pretty funny you should be visiting in the Harrisburg area, So am I.

Not much of a homebrew scene around these parts but there are quite a number of brewpubs and local breweries around the area.
Im going to a place called Als of Hampden this afternoon for a bite and sample some of the 100+ craft beers they have on tap.

I did stop by a distributor named Breski's to pick up a case of two hearted ( cant get it in Jersey) and saw they have a nice little brew shop with pretty good prices on hops if you buy by the pound.

Some of the local breweries i have tried and like are

Tired hands
Fegleys Brew Works
Appalachian brewing co.

And of course there is
Victory
Troegs.

Was at troegs yesterday. They have a killer menu at the brewery and a fine selection on tap including a scratch saison right now. Prices are definitely reasonable.

How far out are you looking to travel? If you are looking to go towards Philly I can give you some suggestions but that could very well be out of your way.

I have to make a loop up to Allentown then down to Philly and was going to stop at Round boys, Tired Hands and Victory , any more?

I have bought some stuff from these guys. They are a distributor that also have a homebrew store on site.

I agree with all on Troegs - Make sure you order their scratch beer chocolate stout. May be the best beer I have ever had.

Also, if you are in Newport, visit Mastracchios....not Mastracchios west.

Great beer selection and the owner, Lou, is a great cook!
