Homebrew Shakes

I've got the homebrew shakes!

I haven't brewed for about five weeks cos one thing after another keeps cropping up.....DIY, taking my wife to see her mum in hospital, DIY, Christmas shopping (groan), more DIY...

Man, I'm in desperate need of a brew...

Been there, done that. 2 of the last 4 batches I've done have been on a weeknight. If I can slip out of work and get home by 5 I can do all my prep/brewing/pitching/cleanup before the news at 11. It's not as relaxing as kicking back on the weekend, but it gets beer in the bottle.

I am trying to shoehorn a session in today between cleaning, truck maintenance, and a poker game tonight that I am hosting. Not sure I will get it in, but I wanted to try out my new outside burner. Still have a lot from the last batch I made to keep me occupied though

Why not brew during the poker game? While your buddies are distracted you can take all their money.

That's why I'm going to be an extract guy until my kids are 18. If I had to wait on all grain I'd never get a brew made.

I reckon I'll probably still do 25-50% extract even when I get the brew gear up for Ag, for that reason.

If I buy a good extract kit that has already been hopped and boiled I can do 23l in under an hour. It still gives beer that's much better than the local pub beer and it costs me 40p a pint. (£1.90 in the pub)
