Fellow brewers,
I stopped by a biergarten in Munich last Fall and had a Hofbrau Hefeweizen. What struck me most besides the flavor was the color: it was a lot closer to orange than I was used to.....does anyone know why?
I've always brewed hefe's with pilsner malt as a base, I'm wondering if they use munich malt for a base, that's the only thing I can think of. I searched the forums and elsewhere online with no great results. I'd like to try to brew something close to the original this Summer. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
