I picked some of this stuff up the other day and I love it, even more than Paulaner hefe!!

Has anyone had problems with imported Hefe being skunked, the last few 12 packs I got, it has tasted like banana bread/mushroom fungal. I am a seasoned hefe lover, so I appricate the juciyfruit/banana / clove taste, but it was bad.

I think I was just buying skunked beer that had been sitting in a warehouse for too long. thoughts?

In the meantime I love hoegarden!!!

Skunking has to do with handling the beer. Tell your local store that they handle the beer like $_ _ t and they should be more careful. This happened to me several times which made me stop going to that store for beer. Shameful. Especially when buying $9 six packs.

Hoegaarden is great! Paulaner Hefe is awesome too. Hefe's in general are fantastic!!

Good luck & stick it to em!!

I also enjoy Hoegaarden. As far as skunking is concerned, I pretty much never buy beer in green bottles any more, unless they come in one of those boxes that shield the bottles from UV light.
