I would recommend getting the gin old fashioned made with Tom Cat if it's on the menu.

HOTW is fantastic but the menu can be kinda plain and uninspired imho. Def worth hitting, but there are plenty of other great options that often go ignored. Some of these include Misery Loves Co, Honey Road, Kismet(havent been personally but heard great things), and Arts Riot

Thoughts on the Persimmon?

Wasn’t my favorite. Kind of a strange combo. Also not personally a huge fan of “dark” sours. YMMV

These available for general population or just CW people?

CD Persimmon was on the reg menu. Rest were for ND dudes only (j/k, they were CW menu as already mentioned)

Been to the original many times, never had a less-than-great experience. All in all it's one of my favorite restaurants in the country.

Can't wait until I'm allowed to hate CW members again (seems wrong seeing as how I just won my first beer lottery ever earlier this week).

Had a couple nice Hill ticks last night. Gin Soigne and WOL Ghosthands were probably my favorites of the lineup.

I did.

Others in the tasting group had just had their first Norma and said they preferred regular Norma and mentioned a medicinal note but didn't pour any out.

Not sure I could say which I preferred without having them side by side but I was glad to try it and found it interesting and pleasurable. I wanted more when I finished my 3oz pour.

Meant to post this last week...but life got in the way. I ran the "Hill Farmstead Half Marathon" last Saturday. One of the more challenging races, of any distance, that I've run, but man was that a blast. I will say that it was more a race that ended with a pour at HF, than a full-on HF event, but nonetheless it was a good excuse to go to HF two days in a row. The Craftsbury Outdoor Center ran this well and it was all for a good cause.

Lucked out with perfect weather in the NEK, and the course was designed for some incredible views. Despite what my brain was telling me around the hill at mile 5, I will definitely hit again and recommend for anyone who semi-enjoys/tolerates outdoor endurance activities but loves Vermont...half of that course is a hike more than a run. Pictured is the post race "free beer," which may have been the best Edward I've ever had.

All in all a wonderful day and I met some great people, despite the fact that many of them weren't there for the beer...

Yes. Went for the first time last August with my gf, and as a result she insisted we go twice on the latest visit up last week. Great experiences. All was good, but especially liked the desserts this go around.

Had a bottle back in April with three friends (one in CW) and all of us got the band aid taste even when letting warm. Drank it all, but had much higher hopes. I’ve always thought Norma gets better with age, so maybe that will be the case with the Elderberry?
