This batch of Ephraim.

<----never been abig ephriam fan.
abv for the sake of abv is not my #newmoney jam

What I liked about Ephraim the one time I had it was how dry it is. Really hit a "west coast style meets Vermont style" feel that worked well for me.

My attempt to clone it was a spectacularly unsuccessful, sweet, under-attenuated mess. I may have to give it a second go sometime.

conduct of life...

all the dipa's have significant batch variance in my experience. S&S4 is the bestest.
Conduct of Life is one of those "if you could only drink one beer for the rest of your life..." contenders for me. Just a ridiculously good and crushable hoppy beer.
Had a growler of conduct last night. Second time having it and I remember liking it but had no rea Fresh from the fridge it was a bit bitter but had some nice nectarine flavor if a bit bitter. As it warmed up holy hell did it come into its own. Just amazing peach/nectarine flavor. Super light and crushable but still had that HF mouthfeel where its perfectly heavy.
I think it just became my favorite pale ale.

Speaking of Susan, does anyone have any thoughts on how well HF's hoppy beers travel? For example, I've had a number of their hoppy beers at Armsby here in MA and have come away never being that impressed. Don't get me wrong, the beers I've had have been very good, but not quite up to par with Treehouse and even many of Trillium's offerings. However, i've had growlers of their hoppy stuff that have been great, so perhaps the kegs they send out aren't being tapped soon enough? Have others ever observed this?

I love every phase of this thread:
  • Rumors about HF releases
  • Confirmation of bottles available
  • Discussion of how amazing various batches are
  • Which shelf saison is most amazing?
  • Omg (non-shelf beer) is coming
  • Which (batch/variant) of (non-shelf beer) is most amazing?
  • Someone asks how they can possibly get their hands on this amazing beer
  • Someone else says "no worries, I'll send you some amazing beer, especially amazing growlers of fresh hoppy deliciousness"
  • Which fresh hoppy beer is most amazingly delicious?
  • How amazing is that cheese?
  • Are the oysters or the cheese more amazing?
  • Rumors about HF events
  • What was the most amazing HF event?
  • Repeat
Seriously, I love it. 99% positive amazingness in this thread.

After almost 600 pages we're bound to revisit a couple topics once or twice the same dozen topics far too many times

I also still dream about getting another batch of Life Without Principle #3 again. I have never seen a 2L growler disappear so fast. Especially because I drank 95% of it.

Don't forget the classic "is it looking like _____ bottles will make it to Saturday?"

The 99% of the other 1% was the SeaWatchman days, we don't talk about that. The other 1% is MikeG

Is this a common issue w/ HF glasses? I got this the other day w/ two other tasters. All three had never been used. I washed them and left them out to dry and when putting them away I noticed this glass already was having the lettering rubbed off. Sorry to deviate from the next scheduled agenda topic, cheese.

haven't had that happen... some of my really old ones might be fading.. what did you wash them with? or maybe it's a new batch with the issue
