I always mean to go to Three Penny and see what it's all about. However I can never seem to go anywhere besides Parker Pie, Hen of the Wood, and Pro Pig. It's all I need in my life.

PP & HF 4/Life! Then i go back to Canada.. then i got back to NJ : ) Next Wednseday can't come soon enough.. damn all those beers on tap.. got to get my growler game in check!

Anyone know what the 12/14 and 03/15 Dorothy's are dry hopped with? It is my understanding it was different for each batch

I know that the last several (at least three? maybe more?) have been Citra. In fact, I think all except batches 1 and 2 (not 2010, but the recent bottled iterations) have said "dry hopped w/ Citra" on the webpage, and I don't have any particular reason to believe batches 1 and 2 differed either.

Wasn't there mention that it was a new recipe? At least that's what I thought I saw before I went up in April.

there were mentions of tweaks and dialing it in to what he intended... that's what I recall

Hen is opening a burger/beer place in Stowe on mtn road, former VT Ale house spot. I always **** up the name but I think it's "Doc Ponds"

I believe this will change some schedules... Assuming it will be the tits.

yup... I'm excited for this... Stowe will certainly be competing w/ Waterbury soon

Batch 3 (IIRC March 2015?) was "new iteration, brewed with wheat, fermented with Brettanomyces, hopped with Citra," text has been the same since then. Batch 2 said something like "reminiscent of Wheat is the New Hops," which, I'm sure Shaun's palate is better than mine, but that beer tasted absolutely nothing like Wheat is the New hops to me...

Almost had Worthy too, but I guess that didn't happen. Going to need some places next summer when alchemist opens. Crop is now run by the Michael's on the Hill folks and food-wise is exponentially better than previous Crop.

I thought this batch said reminiscent of wheat is the new hops?

Well, maybe it did, but if it did, that text isn't on the website anymore. Probably because it's not actually reminiscent of wheat is the new hops.

Just checked their facebook page which had "a pale, hoppy american farmstead ale that's dry-hopped in the foudres and bottle-conditioned. drink it fresh!" for December release and "new iteration, brewed with wheat, fermented with Brettanomyces, hopped with Citra--reminiscent of Wheat is the New Hops" for March 17 release

Where's that Shaun Hill gif? I need to bookmark it.

yes , yes it is... I'd do 6hrs in my sleep over 16.5, hell i can do 4hrs rd trip a day in traffic to work in the Chicago area..

the fact that 6 hours is less than 16 hours does not make it close... the fact that you may have at a point done 4 hours rd trip due to traffic in a work day does not make 6 hours one way close...

we're talking over 12 hours in a day for a round trip which for most means an overnight stay... that is not close
